ABOUT US
Championing Rights Based Education in a safe and inclusive environment.
Institute of Social Education (ISE) was initially formed as a unit of SOLAR Trust specifically aimed at imparting quality education to all irrespective caste, creed, sex and other indifference’s among the children in Tamil Nadu. As its progress, ISE emerged as iconic name among the teachers and students, which is engaged purely in educational development. In 2015, ISE was registered as separate entity under the Indian Trust Act and continue to serve as a sister concern of SOLAR Trust.
Since the beginning of 2000, series of programmes on Right to free and compulsory education have been executed for the teachers, students, school management, elected representatives of local governance etc., Institute of Social Education significantly contributed in the coordination of Federation of Child Friendly Schools in Tamil Nadu and have close association with more than 1800 schools, 21 unions towards the promotion of Child Friendly Approach in all the Schools.

ISE stands out through its holistic, rights-based approach to education. We don’t just teach—we transform educational spaces into nurturing ecosystems where children feel safe, heard, and empowered. Our focus on mental health, community involvement, and youth-led participation ensures that learning is not only effective but meaningful.
